I'm thinking about moving to Orange County in the near future to be closer with my family. Is there a PD in Orange County needs a Vietnamese-speaking officer?

Westminster would be my best guess.

^ Little Saigon is located in Westminister. Santa Ana might be the second highest Vietnamese population in Orange County.

One BIG thing to check for: although you can get a lateral POST certificate through CA POST, not all agencies will accept it.....you will have to go through their academy as well

Almost all of them will hire a Vietnamese speaking officer (pockets of Vietnamese all around Orange County).

The three cities listed above have the highest concentration of Vietnamese.

I would add Fountain Valley, Anaheim, Costa Mesa, Fullerton to your list.

Good luck Anh!

The question is: will CA POST accept my AZ POST?

There's always OCSD also, but your language skills would be in MUCH higher demand somewhere like Garbage Grove, Westminster, Santa Ana.

Westminster is #1 in Viet population. Garbage grove is #2. Santa Ana is #3.
Santa is a better dept. Garbage Grove seems to be on the rebound.

The only way to find your AZ Post vs. CA Post is to ask CA Post.
