I don't know if this question has been posted here or not, but I am doing a little research and would like to know what your current sidearm is and what brand and type of duty ammunition you are issued? Also, how has that particular ammo been working for the department? I would greatly appreciate any responses.

Glock 21 with Remington Golden Sabre 230 GR.
Works great. We have evaluated our rounds after our last few shootings and have found that the rounds perform as Remington says they will- good penetration and expansion through multiple layers of clothing etc.

Our issue duty weapon is the H&K USP .45, but we have a variety of personally owned, department approved options using 9mm, .40 S&W or .45 ACP ammunition. The duty ammunition is Federal HST +P JHP (.45=230 grain, .40=180 grain, 9mm=124 grain).

I know you were asking someone else, but since we use the 17 with the Speer Dot (147gr) I figured I'd chime in. Works like a charm here. We've had 0 problems with the round, it's performed flawlessly each time it's had to be used in a street situation.

Glock 22 issued, winchester Ranger .40cal ammo, you can upgrade to the .45 cal if you want.
Ranger ammo is ok, my buddy shot a guy in the head at 20yards, hit the skull ran around the outside of the skull under the skin then out the back.
