I would recommend seeing about an alarm system for your house. Security cameras might deter them from messing with your property or provide nice concrete evidence of what they're doing while you're gone (if they're rummaging about in your house, vehicles, etc.). Maybe see about getting an outside dog (dogs can be a great deterrent). Just remember, they have a right to be on their property. So don't take actions against them when they are where they have a right to be. Also, if you notice any more events like someone evidently going through your house, call the police and have a report taken. If things do continue and escalate, you'll want those reports to show a pattern of behavior. Good luck.

Well it's evident only to me - things moved around etc. The only pattern of behavior will be me continuing to appear like a crazy lady. That's their point!:o
Might be a little labor intensive, but take pictures of everything in place, so you can show the officers what's been moved. Having something to compare might allay some suspicion of you being thought of as crazy.

I would use CA's stalking laws and have them arrested every chance I got. Make sure you record it so the judge can see it. If the police don't arraest them, take the video to the DA's office and see if they will.

no that's crazy too... What officer would have the time to listen to that nonsense? Having photos of things in different locations doesn't prove anything..... again that's their point, make me look crazy,
it's more of a control and terrorize kind of thing.
Hey, you are the one that asked for advice. If you don't like it then ignore it, but don't get all peeved when someone makes a suggestion that you don't like, when you asked the question in the first place.

I'm just not sure what if anything that would prove to anyone other than me......
As an officer it would prove to me a pattern of behavior, which is necessary (in my state) to prove stalking. Everything you can document goes to establishing that pattern of behavior. And trust me, I may be new to policing, but even in the fire service, we can spot liars and true crazy people pretty quickly and the police have MUCH more experience dealing with that sort of thing. If you can offer proof of what's going on, the officers should take note and do what needs to be done. And I understand your frustration - I would be pretty ill if it were happening to me. ;)
