I have a few friends that applied with Beaufort Co Sheriff's Office and was wondering if anyone could give me info on them. Will they have to go back through SC academy or will PA certification transfer over? If they have to complete the entire academy again, is it paramilitary?

They may be able to attend the 3 week course only pertaining to the laws of SC. Not sure though, you can check with the SCCJA (South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy) The basic LE academy is some what para-military. The HP academy is very para-military.
