Just wondering what other facilities are doing. Right now we get the commissary trucked in. Our officers sort it according to the block. They then go through each item with the inmate to make sure everything is there and have them sign the paper. Our Sheriff would like to eliminate the going through the commissary and just hand the commissary to the inmate. Just wondering how other facilities handle this.

I hate commissary day..It's such a freaking hassle..

Anyway, I do twos and fours so I always get stuck working on commissary day. And there is always one jerkoff who didn't get his buy sheet and then they start with the.."well you need to call __(insert civilian's name here)___." Two things I WILL NOT DO. Go to bat for a con, and make a phone call for a con..I hate calling on behalf of those tool bags..I tell them get out a piece of paper and write..

But anyway, Inmates who are eligible to go receive a buy sheet on the night before Tour III ..They mark there selections and turn the sheet in to the Tour II officer during morning go around. Than the commissary officer collects them and groups them according to availability into 4 groups. Than they are escorted down to the commissary and they make there buy. Any money problems is dealt with inmate accounts and the con..They got a beef they gotta write. Of course they will try to get you to call someone for them..Other than that the prison I work at shares it's commissary with the Medium facility across the street

Btw: I have confiscated more bags of Moon Lodge snacks I could start my own commissary..I hate when they rush back from commissary than start passing there crap out to pay off debts..

We have a warehouse with civilian employees and minimum offenders. It gets sorted for individual facilities then units within the facilities. Then blue shirts organize it per tiers and hand it out. Ahhhhh. I can smell the sticky buns and keefe coffee right now..."Hey CO, when do we get our store?" "Hey CO, have you passed out store yet?" Passing out the NSF store slips is my favorite part of the day.

We use Canteen Services. We give the order to the inmate make them sign the paper that their order was *delivered* before the bag is opened the inmates check the order and if something isn't correct they send the whole order back with a little form they fill out and the order is corrected (if need be) and sent back the next day. Not too big of a hassle but if the bag is opened at all they can't get their order corrected. The only problem we run into is when the bags don't get sealed correctly they are already opened and that has been a problem once or twice in the last year and a half.

We don't do $h!t but watch the Keefe people pass it out. Unfortunately you have to watch the Keefe people because they have been caught several times trying to sneak unauthourized stuff the the inmates. I don't trust ANYONE not in uniform.

We have civilians who do all that. And the inmates prepare the orders. Each unit goes once a week.

Who do you think these companies hire to fill the commissary orders? We had more than one instance where contraband was found inside the order bags from our commissary company. Your Sheriff is crazy to give up the security of his facility to minimum wage warehouse workers.
