Crawfish prices

I boiled a sack Sunday, I got 'em for $1.79 lb. A friend of mine who lives east of Ville Platte says he can get crawfish at the landing for $1 lb. Another friend who lives near Morganza says he can get them the same way for $.75-$1 lb. Does this sound far fetched? I was really surprised.

Not really.Pre-Katrina,I used to get my shrimp from the docks at the Rigolets in Slidell and paid about 1/4 to 1/3 of store cost.(damn storm:mad:)

I saw them here (Houma-Thibodaux area) for about $0.89 a pound live and about $1.55 boiled. Much more fun to boil though.

Well, next time I boil more than one sack I'm definitely gonna do some driving.
