I was told today that I was being placed on the LMPD eligibility list after passing the physical testing as well as the oral and written test. My question to anyone who might know is how exactly their eligibility list works? What determines what position you are put on the list? How many people are generally on the list at anytime?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

This basically means that you are eligible to continue on with the process. If you passed the oral, written and PAT, you are placed on the eligibility roster and the will conduct a BI, polygraph, and all of your medical and psych testing. You normally receive a conditional offer of employment after you pass the polygraph.

Semperfi, thanks for the response.
Does anyone know how you are ranked on the elgibility list, as in what position they place you based on your testing?

To anyone who is curious I got word from the Civil Service people that if you pass the written, oral, and physical exams you are then placed on the elgibility list. The scores you receive on these test are basically pass/fail and the LMPD is only given that you passed the test and not your actual score. Im still not sure how you are then ranked but they said what you do from the point you are put on the elgibility list is what determines who they hire. So you would still have your Chief panel Interview, background investigation, pysch, poly, and physical (not in that given).

Keep us updated. I'm planning on applying with LMPD in a few months.

Just had my Chief Panel Interview. It took only a few minutes, maybe 6 or 7. They said I would be hearing back from them in a couple days to let me know how I did. I think according to had I did on this interview will be my position on the elgibility list.

After you complete the chiefs panel you will be emailed a score which will range from 900-1200. This determines ones place on the eligibility roster. The order of the eligibility roster is the order in which backgrounds are completed.

Had my Chief Panel interview on Wednesday and still no word. Is this normal?

Perfectly normal.....just take into account the fact that there are over 1200 people applying for approx 35 positions.....with only 5 BI's/recruiters to deal with all of their files. I'd give it a few weeks and if you still haven't heard anything give your recruiter a call.
