The Grosses thing you've seen!

Okay Ive been working as CO for a couple of years and I have seen some sick stuff in my time but yesterday and today have probably topped it off on stuff.

We had an inmate that took a bite out of his bicep and then took his finger and dug in it. It was pretty deep, the nurse said he was digging around the bone. He also took a plastic spoon and manage to shove it all the way up his private area (im glad I didnt' see that). That was all yesterday. Well today he decided he would take a bite out of his other bicep there were chunks of flesh on the floor. I see some gross stuff before but this topped it for me and I was working camera duty so I had the whole thing on film. Lucky me I had my lunch break right after. The thoughts while I was eating well you can imagine.....

I want to know what others out there have seen that are grosser than my story!

The worst I have had so far is when we were taking a 10-15 from a Mental Health Ward to jail for assaulting staff there. She was being a total B when we were stuffing her huge(4'9 300+lbs) *** in the squad, and we got her buckled in as she kept screaming at us. We didn't secure her hands with cuffs(big mistake never again) and after about 3 miles she bit her arm and started tearing out chunks of fat in her arm. She started screaming and tossing flesh chunks at the cage, and blood was everywhere in the backseat. I quickly slammed the car over into the shoulder, and me and another Deputy
grabbed her wrist, and cuffed her from the front of her to stop her from further injury. She kept yelling this is our fault, and we did this to her and how she is not being treated fairly. We then took her to the ER to get fixed up, and after that we took her right back to the Mental Health Ward.

Well, this one came right to mind. I was working the rec yard, and an inmate came to me and said he had to go to the nurse. I told him that rec was almost over and he can go when he gets back to his unit and asks his housing cop. Then I noticed him back against the fence by the gate where they walk out and not move. Another inmate was helping him walk. Well, when I opened the gate to let them back to their housing units, I noticed a little brown spot forming in his no no spot (back middle of the pants). As he walked the spot just kept getting bigger. I radioed to the metal detector shed and said make sure you pay him down good. When the officer took position to pat frisk, he jumps back and send him on his way. Then that officer radioed to the other post to do the same, with the same reaction. Then we called the housing officer and told him to check him good, with the same exact reaction. Seems he was getting used as someone's b***h and wasn't very used to it. It was nasty. Seemed he couldn't hold it in very well and it just came out. We still tell that story to this day, and that was about 3 years ago.

We have had closet pickle puffers perform surgery on themselves. A couple years ago a bunch of them got caught cutting open the "salami" and inserting a piece of a domino in there and sewing it back up. Their story was that it enhanced their sexual pleasure. I thought I had seen it all up until that point.........:D

We have a "special" i/m who likes to put stuff up his rear end. So far he's gotten grape fruit, paper, sheets, and all kinds of other stuff including his hand stuck up there. I, of course, didn't know this until after I belly belted him up.

Saw a mental health guy stab himself in the neck with one of thoes wood art paint brushes that are about 12" long. So far in 17 months as a CO thats the crazyist thing i've seen.

I just closed the gate on a lock down tank when the inmate started shouting. After a quick “rock/paper/scissors” I lost and went back in. The other officer worked the keys. I came to the first cell and all I saw was red. The lady had cut her neck from her ear to ear. She was standing at the door and asked me “Do you have a cigarette? I’m not crazy you know… I thought if I went to the hospital I could ask enough people for a cigarette. I know I will get a smoke.” Every time she spoke I could see air bubbles come out of her throat………..

Ditto on NJPrisonCop – A day without poop in the mental wards = something is REALLY wrong.

Special Needs??? The inmate would chew off his toe nails because he was allowed nothing to harm himself. Surgically place the nail in like a curved sewing needle under his veins and back out the other side. Wait for the officer to look up at him - and rip out the toe nail cutting the vein and any stitches which may have been there to. The blood always squirted where you did not want it to.

This one inmate was sitting on the throne for a while. Every time I would make my walk (every 10 min for the special people) He was on there. On one of the walks a fellow officer was walking with me and we looked into this dudes cell and he was on his knees infront of the toilet... I asked him if he was ok and he looked up at me put his hand in the toilet, took a big 'ol scoop (he had the runs) and drank/ate it. He must have been hungry though. Because he kept doing it. The officer standing beside me almost threw up. HAHAHA. It was grose!

Thats pretty normal for us. We see that on a daily basis. They either smear it every where or they fling it. Eating it is also an option for them too.

Went into the kitchen @ 0200 to check on the trustee that was locked in working on breakfast (he also re heated / cooked our shift meal which started at 0230) found him..................ah......................worki ng out with the brick of butter...........ah..................had a nice hole worn into the 3lb block of butter.
He went straight to lock up and DIDN'T come back to work at the kitchen. He was a well know flaming homosexual (and proud of it......told everyone he came in contact with too)

2 or 3 yrs later I saw him working as a cook at a Micky D's in the near by city. I NEVER, repeat NEVER eat at the golden arches anymore

Had a guy who smeared the contents of his colostomy bag all over the walls in his cell and he was positive for hepatitis. Another one was a guy who stuck a coat hanger in his doodle and the doc at the office gave one good tug and it came out with some of his daddy parts attached to it.

We had a woman come into our county jail. Obviously since I am male, I didn't do the strip search. We knew she stunk when she was brought into booking.

She was about 5'5" and weight around 450. She had a pillow under her stomachs fat-roll. They pillow had rotted and her flesh was rotten also. Nastiest thing I have ever seen! The pillow was holding up/cushioning the fat rolls. The pillow was all kind of funky colors.

That hurts no matter what! A few years ago my wife took mine out a few days after a surgery. She was as gentle as she could be and did everything right, but when the time came...I could swear she thought she was starting a lawn mower.

As far as sick stuff, everyone has mine beat. Fishing for balloons on a dry celled inmate - who had just begun a cycle of antibiotics. I couldn't eat Taco Bell for a couple years after that. I've also had to sift through poop in a lobby restroom because one of the visitors spread paper towels on the floor and passed it. Whoever did it already dug for the prize. I've done poop patrol more than anyone at my facility. Not good.

RedRyder: I can handle the poop, pee, self infliction of wounds to get attention or a trip to the hospital, but GOD DANG that was one messed up one. Reminds me of the 400+ pound tree jumper we had that had rotting sores under his rolls. That was the one time I almost puked. The other was a homeless dude who didn't take care of his diabetes. Ever see someones leg from their knee to their ankle with no skin, pussing like mad, and looking like straight muscle flesh. Thats yummy, and makes for an aromatic extravaganza!!!! The kicker was he was being held (this is in the county i used to work in) for a $37 detainer. The judge finally had enough and decided to spare some taxpayer money.

I saw a guy bite a HUGE chunk out of his arm, like a complete mouthful, and then held it in his mouth for 20 minutes, just so he could spit it at the extraction team. Apparently the biting didnt hurt (you could see bone) but OC spray that ended up in there did. (sometimes, I'm glad I only get to run the camera, being so new and all;) )

you guys know that around holloween time kids do the bobbing for apples thing? Well, I guess in keeping with this tradition this inmate we had had his head in the toilet and he was bobbing.....but not for apples.
