I'm heading to Boston in late June to catch a Sox game. Not sure where we're staying yet but it shouldn't be too far from Fenway

Am I going to have any problems swapping patches? Any recommendations for pre-game meals/ drinks?

Thanks in advance,
Chris

Not sure about the patches but you'll have plenty to of places to choose when it comes to pre-game eating and drinking...I would suggest either Cask and Flagon or Boston Beer works which are both next to Fenway park but where-ever you choose I'd get there early as places fill up on game days....Overall Boston is a pretty safe walkable city with easy to use subways and trolley's...Not sure if you plan on driving while your here but...Boston drivers have a rep for being tough...so keep in mind that to the average Boston Driver kindness is weakness.....and the roads aren't laid out in a grid like in many other cities...they're also not marked too well either in some places...Also I'd bring along some different clothes as our weather in June can vary somewhat...you could have a nice sunny 80 degree day or it could be rainy and 55-60 all week...If you have any other questions feel free to Pm or Post....and I'll try to answer them....

Formerly from Franklin, MA. I hated it there. Worked 9.5 years for a nearby PD and got tired of the BS and transfered to a nice agency in FL.

June, 2006: Rain and temps in the mid 50's for 30 days. MISERABLE.

If I remember right the summer of 1998 it didn't get out of the 60's and low 70's until almost August if memory serves..I think they called it the summer that wasn't...Right now I'm seriously giving some thoughts to Florida myself...although trying to sell the idea on my other half isn't going so well...

Wolf,

I went to Boston a few years back. I met a BPD officer there who hooked me up with some patches. He also drove us back to our hotel. I don't know if they are all as friendly to out-of-state police. But that officer certainly still saw the job as a brotherhood. I talked to a few others that again were really cool. Boston is a great city you will love it.

I would say go to the Cask n Flagon also, but like someone already posted, you definitely have to get there early otherwise you won't be able to move in there, let alone get a table. They have a fairly new place right at Fenway too, called "Game On", I tried going there once but it was SO loud that I couldn't hear a word the person I was sitting across from was saying. I think it was because they seemed to have all hardwood floors so there's nothing to absorb any sound whatsoever. So we left and went to the Cask N Flagon. Anyway have fun! Fenway is one of my most favorite spots in the world! I hope you get good weather.
