Kauai PD or SO

I was hired by the Maricopa County Sheriff office PHX az as a recruit but there is a hiring freeze. My family has recently moved to Kauai and said i the garden Island news that them may hire for Kauai PD. How long does the process usually take? I am aware of the mulitple trips it will take just not the length of time.
