I am currently in academy class 175 with RSO and just completed my first week to include " Black Friday"! For those of you that are currently in the process of of becoming a deputy sheriff trainee or are scheduled for the class 176, should you have any questions I would be more than happy to answer them. Just PM me and I will get back with you. Good Luck!

Hey, how'd that first week go for you? How many people did you lose? That first week is quite fun huh... once your routine is down then it goes pretty fast.

hey guys, im in the 57th correctional deputy academy with rso as well. we just finished our second week of the academy. it looks like class 175 had a great first week. i was kind of jealous because none of our tac staff yells at us with a megaphone... lol.

Humm... that's a lot of drops. From what I've heard they cut the class down to about 95 to start with. I think mostly because the classroom will only seat that many. Then again it's sometimes hard to get the correct information second hand.
lsxowner, your class is starting to look pretty good! Keep up the good work.
davjon14, did anyone get pet rocks on friday from PT staff?

Thats normal. Some people are just testing the waters to see if law enforcement is something they want to do. They often realize within the first week that they can't take the stress. If they are going to crack under pressure in the classroom they shouldn't be on the street where it's un-controlled and sometimes worse..... Good Luck davjon..

davjon,
I'd like a 50,000 page essay, on the correct spelling of Sheriff. ;)
Good luck, and keep us posted.

Lakersfan, originally the class was actually going to be around 130 recruits and cut it down too the 117 number. This is of course what Lt. Peebles indicated to us. As for the " pet rocks" I believe approx. 10-12 recruits got a " new" pet! Have you heard where you are going or any rumors on how that will play out once you graduate? Any news for this class?

our class got name tags and below our name it indicated where we were headed. i guess you guys don't have that? and i don't know if you guys have had any long runs yet but lt. peebles came out to run with us last week and he left everyone behind including some of the pt staff lol.

davjon14, dang that is a lot of people! The rocks are pretty funny. Lt. Peebles is a machine when it comes to running!
No news on where we are headed yet. I don't think we find out for another 4 or more weeks.
Haven't heard much about your class, with the new Sgt. it should be interesting to see how things work out.

Hey I'm not an officer so remove this if necessary but:
Is a "pet rock" a metaphor for something? lol

no if you keep screwing up on certain things then the tac staff gives you a rock because you're "dumb as a rock" i guess. then you have to name your rock and decorate it somehow, then you have to carry it around with you everywhere you go throughout the academy.
