Hey All,

I am flying to SoCal (coming home so to speak) to take some courses (see below) towards attaining a Basic Course Waiver...I'll be taking them at Rio Hondo...Can anyone advise as to the difficulty of them? I'v ebeen told to arrive at or before 0700, and to plan to be there ALL day!! Any insight is greatly appreciated!! Thanks...

LD7:Elder/Dependent Adult Abuse 2hrs
LD27: Missing Persons 4hrs
LD34: First Aid & CPR 5hrs
LD35a: Chemical Agents 4hrs
LD38: Gang Enforcement 2hrs
LD43a: Law Enforcement Response to Terrorism 8hrs
LD43b: NIMS/SEMS 8hrs

if those are the LDs you'll have to study, don't sweat it. piece of cake. hopefully you won't have to go through pepper spray again.

8 Hrs of NIMS/SEMS is probably the toughest. At least you wont fall asleep for Chemical Agents.

LOL!! I'd better not...it was quite interesting when I took it in Texas...

pm pkagel on this site -although he's now in Tex ( completed his academy there and will be putting in for a local dept) he finished the Basic academy here and has all the LDs you need ( he'll tell you how to get the overviews for them and download them) you'll do fine....
