I scored a 98% on my firearms re-qual cycle a couple weeks back. Am I qualified to wear the Pistol Shot breast bar or not? I checked online & I'm finding numbers like 95%+, 98%+, or a perfect 100%. Some cops I talked to say yes, and others say no. Can anybody confirm? Thanks.
Bar looks like this:

I had a few pages that got lost out of my copy of the PG. I phoned a friend so he could check his copy for me, its 100. Oh well lol. He told me you might be liable if you have that bar & God forbid get into a shooting, courts are gonna question that example: "if you're such a perfect shot, why did your rounds miss & hit an innocent bystander?"

The academy I went to says that no matter how good of a shot you are you can't have the pistol expert pin because some lawyer somewhere had crap to say cause a couple cops got in a shoot out, one was a "expert" one was not and the non "expert" shot first and it brought up a bunch of silly questions in court and the rest is history...kinda sucks but thats the way it splatters I guess

Yeah that makes sense. No need to wear a bar to show that I can shoot my firearm...

One thing that always pops up in court in the city is your requests for recognition. They are open to discovery by the defense and should be very carefully worded. Be sure that they match all your reports.

I shot a 100% at the range 3 times. The range officer gave me the expert bar right on the line.Something tells me they don't do this anymore.

Some cops tell me that if you wear the expert bar you might get jammed up. How? You earned it, so its your every right to wear it. I shot the re-qual a week ago and finally got my 100%. I chose to wear one because I'm proud of my accomplishment. Why is that so bad?

No problem with wearing your pistol qualofication bar.......the only question a defebnse attorney can really ask is if you qualified and at what distances. Wearing or not wearing a Pistol Shot bar is not going to affect your liability in a shooting. My post was directed at NYPD's rule that you have to submit your own request for recognition. That has come up a lot in criminal cases....which is why I said all your paperwork has to match.

Well to get a 98% is it marksmanship or tactical shooting? Because if its just marksmanship then a defense cant really hold that against you. You all know marksmanship is a complete different animal. For example, I am mediocre at marksmanship, especially with a pistol; however put me in a tactical shooting scenario and I am well above par. And 99% of real life scenarios will be more on the tactical shooting side.
