I went 2 one and thought it was helpful. They just have u do push-ups, sit ups and the 1.5 mile run.

If you need a workshop to get into shape, then you need not apply. If your physical condition is that much in question, then don't bother, your just going to get your fellow officers hurt if you get the job.

And if you don't question your condition, but you question your technique, the workshop will be helpful. You may be able to belt out 60-70 situps, but if your technique is off, they won't all count. It can't hurt to know exactly what you'll have to do and how THEY want you to do it.

I agree with HXD. I went to the workshop and I am in no way out of shape. I went to see what they had to offer (it’s free). You will be surprised the amount of people that use INCORRECT form when completing the exercises. They will show you the proper form when completing the tests. If you do not have proper form during the test, there is a good chance you will be DQ'ed.

Uhh, yeah. As mentioned above, I'm going to it because its free and I want to make sure I'm using the right technique. My physical condition is not in question.

LOL, if you don't know how to do a push up or sit up correctly then there's something wrong. You can see how to do a correct sit up and push up on the internet for free as well by some of the top physical fitness instructors in the nation.

any of you guys have military experience, it doesn't sound like it, if you do, then there's no need to go. Yopu know what's expected of you then.

I've heard stories of people getting DQ'd for very simple "protocol" violations at these tests so I figure I'll take advantage of a free session to make sure I'm doing things correctly.

If you have any questions on the technique it is certainly helpful....I played sports for 15 plus years (including college) and never had to do a full sit-up in my life with any sort of critique of the exact form...every physical therapist, sports doctor, and chiropractor I've talked to has said not to even bother doing full sit-ups because of the danger to your back and neck if not done 100% perfect on every single one. For the hour or two it took, I felt it was worth it.

There was 2 people in my group of about 10 that took the agility test and failed the sit-ups because they did the form wrong and a bunch didn't count.
