Psych

Anybody had a Psych with Dr. Corey? I assume so since most of Oregon goes through him. How did it go? I've heard he's pretty easy going, I'm just nervous, it's the last step!

I had him a few weeks ago as well as some of my buddies and we passed. He is fine. When you are finished though, he doesn't give you any feedback as far as how you did. So of course you think you fail. The interview part is pretty short, about twenty minutes and he will ask you random stuff. Good luck. I was freaking when I had to go see him since it was my last hurdle. Let me know how you do or PM me if you have more questions.

OryGun, thanks for the info. I'm a little nervous about it too, but everybody tells me not to worry about it. I passed all of the other tests today (physical and hearing), so it's my last step too.

Pat, hang in there, I hear OSP's process can take up to a year.

I just did my Psych yesterday for mid-sized town just out of Portland. I'm kinda worried. I think I did fine but you just never know. All I have left is the Medical exam and then I just hafta wait for a spot for the academy. This is it!!!.:)

Good job. I don't think most people realize how awesome it feels and how hard it is to get hired. I was sworn in and started a couple months ago and go to academy in a few weeks. I remember staring at my phone waiting for it to ring. I love my job so far. The people are great, professional, and the job is pretty fun. One thing that has suprised me is how much time is spent in the car. You do a lot of driving.

I found out today that I passed the psych. Thats good news now all I need is the physical and I'm good to go. Shouldn't be more than a week from now.:)

How was Dr. Corey? I have my psych with him next Wednesday. I am nervous about it, also. I guess because I don't know what to expect. :confused:

Dr. Corey is a regional guy with the city of Portland psych examiner contract, he also does it for some local agencies and travels out of state doing the same for some California agencies I believe.

Despite the battery of tests taking all day and the interview with him at the end which is fairly short (the shorter the better for you) I believe its relatively painless. Any questions just pm me and good luck.

Just to echo some other thoughts here, I liked him. He was personable and I got on with him just fine. I was pretty nervous about the interview, but it was really easy and more like a conversation.

If I can pass... nobody needs to sweat it.
