Applying in Erie County

I am considering applying to a department in Erie county. I meet all of the qualifications and should have no problem with the agility test. I was wondering if anyone had some info on when the next civil service exam is.:confused: (I'm going to contact the county but I was just wondering if anyone has info before I do so). Lastly, I was wondering if I need to contact the department that I want to apply for before or after I take the exam?

Here is a map that provides the link to the civil service dept for every county in NYS. Some counties do not have civil service websites so the links are dead. However, it is possible that a portion of the information you requested is available if you click on Erie county.

Sorry, you must have missed the last test offered in November of 2007. Unfortunately, you will not be able to apply for another 3 years. Just apply out of state and you'll probably be policing the streets before the 2007 Erie county testers even start their interviews. :D

As I am too! Shouldn't be too long now I hope. There is an academy class in August that I hope to be in. I am getting too old for these things!:)

Yeah, this is my last series of tests I'm going to pay for in this state. If Nothing comes of it, I may start looking out of state or find another career path. Depends on the wife. :D

Same here.. But I just had my panel interview with NFTA, so I'm hoping to get hired by them :)

Yeah, there is another academy class in August. Good luck! I'm in the academy right now and it's the biggest class they have ever run......102 of us. I think these academy classes sizes are going to be larger than their average class due to the fact that the City of Buffalo is hiring cops again......Thank God!!!!!
