Downey PD

Has anyone here processed or know anyone working at Downey? I have researched the department, I did a ride-along, and was wondering if anyone had any insight on this agency. I am scheduled to test this spring.

very small town and PD. If u had a good time on your ride-a-long it apply, but I would look at other agencies in the area first.

Its not that small. I was a cadet there in the early 90's. It has about 115-120 cops and the city is about 12.5 sq miles. The pay is decent and it can busy at times. Not a bad department.

[previous deleted]- posted about wrong dept ! but I agree- Downey PD plays "rough" for a suburban Dept- rmember how they upgraded weapons PDQ after a 211 susp thought he could beat to pistol packin' officers with an AK 47 ( suspect LOST) plus ,other than LONg Beach to the south and Whittier to(roughly) the north-downey doesn't have any peers in terms of mid city depts (like huntington Park PD,Bell PD,Bell "garbage",,err Gardens PD,south Gate PD)
