Erie County Sheriff

Just curious if anybody knows if the Erie County Sheriff Patrols in all areas of the county including towns that already have their own department.

I just started this week (not with the SO), but I know they don't patrol in our town. We do however share a border with them and the State Police. I've lived in WNY all my life and I've never seen a SO make a traffic stop in any of the towns.

They don't generally patrol in towns with their own departments, except as providing backup to said towns.

The towns might call on the sheriff's department for things that they don't have themselves (K-9s, aviation unit assistance, investigative & crime lab stuff, etc.)
