What to buy????

Hey Guys,
I'm not quit hired by a department but getting real close. I'm am trying to prepare for the academy life style. I would more than likely be attending Riverside Sheriff's Academy and want to know what I need to buy? I have 1 suit with a few shirt/tie combos & a .40 Sig 229..... I'm not sure what the department will cover but instead of waiting until the last minute, I'd like to start getting prepared now so I don't spend a big chunk at once???? Thanks in advance!

Also, what do new classes wear through their first couple of weeks? First day?? Do I need a brief case?

If you go to Riverside Sheriff's Academy, you will be wearing class C uniforms, even on the first day. Depending on what department you get hired by, they will give you information on what to buy, and what they will provide. You will need to get a pair of boots for sure, and a GOOD pair of running shoes!

I bought 2 pairs of ASICS running shoes for the academy because they will run out quick.

For boots, I suggest you go with Bates Durashock lace-to-toes

I know you are eager to buy stuff, but just to be safe I would wait until you actually get hired and have a start date for the academy. They should provide you with a list of what you actually need. If you are worried about spending a huge chunk at once, just save the money until it is needed.
