I am a private security officer in northern ca but i will be relocating to San Diego soon.
Q 1. I would like to know what the security company's are like in the area. Who is doing to much? And who is doing there job right and not acting like a cop?
Q 2. How is the support. I know that in my current area it varies some agency work with and support security and some don't.
Any help and or recommendations is greatly appreciated. The more input the better.

You could always try and get on at the Nuke plant. You aren't going to find another security job that pays near what they get.

At the Navy bases they have private security on the gates. Golden Eagle is the name I think. They earn over $20 an hour starting. You need your guard, gun, baton, pepper spray, and cpr card before they will hire you.

At the nuke plant you are most likely going to get OCSD or CHP support even though the plant is technically in SD county. You also have a good percentage of the USMC as backup. Fact is though, nothing much exciting happens with the guys and they are able to take advantage of the very good college tuition benifits the company offers in addition to the other excellent benifits. The main problem is affording a place to live in the greater SD/OC area.

Cool. Thank you, But I am looking for something out on the street level. Does anyone know anything about (Heritage security) I understand they supply armed security for the transit system. Are they pro taser? How does leo fell about security having the taser's? Is Heritage a good company?

There isn't a single security company that isn't worthless here. I've spoken with a couple people who used to work for heritage and they hated them. No guards I've ever seen carry a Tazer in SD.

Depending on what you want to do and from your previous post
it seems like you want to get the street level experience
the only way to do that with a security company is through transit.
Excuse me if im wrong, but the reason I say that because it is the only private security company that I know of that has you working with the general public out on the street/trolley. By general public I mean blue collar, white collar, kids, juveniles, gang members, crazy people, anything you can think of its on the trolley.
That's it for now I'll start a more up to date and informative thread on transit shortly.
