Patches

I am trying to build a collection of patches. I want a State Police Patch from every state in the US and thier capitol Police department as well as the major departments within the state. I am posting this in all of the state forums. Any help would be appreciated.

hehe sorry hawaii doesnt have a state police agency only city and county sheriff.

Each county has its own police dept. the only law enforcement agency that is state wide would be the states sheriffs dept. I don't know what there policies are for shoulder patches. Hope this answers your questions.

Really? You learn something new every day I guess. As far as Hawaii goes, Honolulu PD and any other agencies would be cool to have.

I have 3 county patches from Hawaii. I believe there are 4 counties. Maui is last on my list! I went to a station on each island, showed my credentials, had my OWN department's patch with me to equally trade, and asked if I could have a patch of theirs in exchange. I've been lucky with all so far.

On Kauai, I stopped at a substation (a trailer next to the beach!) and they were willing to trade, no problem.

On Oahu, the Honolulu PD covers the whole island and I did a ridealong with one of their guys from the main downtown station. They gave me a patch with a pocket-sized folder with patch history on it. They have this HUGE room full of memorabilia and patches from all over the world, including history on their own department. Very cool!

On the Big Island, I stopped at the main station in Hilo. They were a little hesistant, but when I agreed to buy a $20 Hawaii PD memorial coin, they were willing to trade, no problem. I didn't care - more collectibles for me!
