I’m preparing for a vacation to maui. I’ve tried to find out what the laws are for an out of state LEO to carry a firearm and haven’t had much luck. Anyone Know?

Same as anywhere else. Have your Badge/ID on you when you carry and you will be fine.

Since Hawaii is part of the US, HR-218 is in effect.

You do know that you can't fly armed? You will have to pack in your carry-on. Get with the Airline to see what their rules are about it and make sure they know you have one in your bag when you are checking in.

i spend quite a bit of time on Maui. leave the gun at home. it will be more of a burden than an asset. rental cars get broken into left and right out there so leaving it's not like you can stick it in the glovebox while your at the beach.

Key word "vacation". Relax. Yes it is good in many LEO's to carry off-duty everywhere, but why risk your weapon being stolen, etc. Just way too many variables to discuss, but I would just leave it at home.
