Lexington just started a class of 42 last week and probably going to start another in six months or less.

As of Friday Dec 14th Lexington is testing for a new class that is projected to begin in May/June 2008. The testing will be going on thru March and you can currently submit a Position Interest Form from their website.

Ok thank you, I just filled out the Position Interest Form. I would really love the opputunity to be on an agency like Lexington.. Otherwise its military. So I was actually trying to skip a step by getting hired on before hand and not after. Do you any of you currently work for Lexington PD?

Covingon PD Is hiring big time, they are 20 guys down.
Go to YOUTUBE.COM and type in COVINGTON KY POLICE, they have a recruiting video on there. I know Independence is hiring 2, but they are looking for laterals more than anything. Kenton CTY PD is testing again next November, they just tested. Where r u working now?

Ksp is giving the written exam and Content Based Task Test on February 23rd and March 5th in Frankfort, Kentucky.

Covington is doing the written test on March 1st and I think the application has to be in before Feb 15th at 4:30 pm.
Like Kycop28 said, Covington is down pretty big. I saw a Captain on ICN 6 the other night saying they want to hire 6 by the spring and possibly 10 more by summer.
Independence physical test is this Saturday and written is next Wednesday but I think the deadline passed.
Boone County written test is this Wednesday but the deadline passed and they usually only test every 3-4 years.
Also heard a rumor that Florence would be testing soon. I think they are always accepting applications though.

Covington is hiring 10 or so due to retirement, I wouldn't work there though...

I've heard that they are a bad department and they don't seem too organized either. I was actually 2nd on their list (after written, physical, oral and poly) in 2003 but somehow they tested again 6 months later although the list was suppose to be good for 2 years. They told me that they lost all of the records from my testing cycle and I had to start over.
I know this sounds stupid but I'll take anywhere right now. I've been trying off and on for 5 years now to get on somewhere and this is going to be my last attempt. I'm 30 years old now and I'm getting pretty discouraged.

Ive applied down there, I stopped in and talked to Officer Natilie Payne, she was really nice and helpful. She said they will be gettin a list together to notify for test dates. I would apply and at least get on the list. She is in charge of thier citizen's academy and said thats the easiest way to get to know the officers and admin on the hiring staff, I would be coming in as a new recruit tho, you may have lateral status.

When I was there, they had like 4 unmarked chargers sitting there, They were BADD!! Completely unmarked, just Led's in the grill, fogs, mirrors and windows, Black on Black! If I get on with them, I've got my eye set on gettin into one of those bad boys as quick as possible! Hope this helps! Let me know if you need the link to the website, they also have a forum up.
