Well, Camr08 finally made the lest popular choice. The rest all agreed, a mix of 10-code and plain speak is best. Well done. Man, you guys are tough. Here are the standings now...

On to topic #8
Which call would you respond to first, if you received one right after the other, found yourself EXACTLY equal distance from each location with NO AVAILABLE BACK-UP. You are it. It's all up to you:
An armed robbery at a 7-11, invloving a known shotgun brandishing teenager with shots fired
A child just fell into a lake from a bridge and is still above water but RP who claims they cannot swim, is screaming the child cannot swim either and will drown
A woman screaming a man is breaking into her home. She is all alone and unarmed
A man is on the phone claiming to be having a heart attack with classic symptoms
Let's have your choices by next Thursday, Midnight. Good luck!

I'm getting into this one late....so I'm not sure of the rules here. I go with the drowning child. With the information given, this is the most life threatening incident, and the one we can have an immediate impact on.

Great Scenarios lets hope they never happen at the same time!

I haven't been playing, but I'll throw in an opinion: With no time to ponder and no additional info, I say:
1. The 7-11 robber is already shooting, truly a menace to the community, and the report contains enough details to be mostly accurate. I'm there.
And for the rest:
3. She's #2. Probably a domestic or the UPS man trying to deliver Christmas presents in the dark. Greater chance of inaccuratye report.
4. I know CPR, but presumably the ambulance is also in route, and the guy is still up at this point.
2. Sucks to be him. I don't swim, either. Dispatch, tell the caller to look for a boat or a floatation device.

I'll post my reasoning after the poll is closed. I wouldn't want to screw up anybody else.

For you guys not in the game, this has been going on for a couplke of months. Stand by and we'll do it again when this one ends, with a happy camper taking away a book, a bag of pork skins and Snickers Bar. :)

I choose number 2 hands down.....
#1 is more than likely a property crime and no information that anyone has been injuried.
#3 her screaming will more than likely scare off anyone that was breaking in if it was only to steal
#4 hopefully the medics are closer than I and they have all the tools to take care of him.
Either way, 1, 3 and 4 or people of older ages that have had a chance at life....a child has not. I am going to the child in the water!

211 gotta be a cold call or the clerk wouldnt be calling...suspect is known we'll get him tomorrow...
kid in lake, man having heart attack...thank God we have a fire department..
Have to assume cat burg in progress is 187 about to occur..enrout that.
all of that presumes my request for code 7 was denied

An armed robbery at a 7-11, invloving a known shotgun brandishing teenager with shots fired -- well he'll likely be gone on arrival... tough call
A child just fell into a lake from a bridge and is still above water but RP who claims they cannot swim, is screaming the child cannot swim either and will drown--Probably going to beat the FD I'd go here
A woman screaming a man is breaking into her home. She is all alone and unarmed --its probably her husband still tough call though
A man is on the phone claiming to be having a heart attack with classic symptoms -- Let the FD handle that one

Well since I got my second strike on this one, obviously I chose the wrong option. The heart attack and the drowning child I left for Fire/Rescue. They always beat us to calls anyway. That left the burglary in progress and the armed robbery in progress. I took the known threat of the shotgun wielding teen with shots fired over the less defined threat. Anyway you look at it in this scenario your screwed.
