I posted this in the Officer Down forum, but it bears repeating.
Sgt. Courtney Gale, who works in the City of Athens-Clarke Co., was severely cut by a man night before last. She was working a part-time job at Kroger (the Supermarket) where we also work part time details.
A woman in the store said a male was cutting up boxes with a butcher knife. He had left the store when she approached him. Apparently, we whirled around and started cutting. Help was on the scene very quickly, as she pushed her panic button. He cut or stabbed her a LARGE number of times in a short period of time, and she's in ICU now in critical condition.
Cuts are statistically more deadly than gunshot wounds. Remember the 21-foot rule, and maybe double it with a crazy, doped up guy.
He was arrested at the scene. Prayers welcome.
