Has anyone been to this academy? It's located on the University of Central Missouri. Just curious because I'll be attending it in Jan. and if anyone had been to it, I was just wondering how it was.
I've heard that it's both laid back and very stern...either way doesn't really matter to me. I'm in fairly good shape and getting better, have a good grasp on some laws, and keep my nose out of trouble.
I just wanted to know how it was and get some testimonials from anyone who had been there. It seems awesome.

I've taken continuing ed classes there.....so not sure what to tell you as I really don't think anyone here has been there in the basic training mode.....
If it was like my (and all of the other pay academies) they will try to be strict with you to a point....but won't want to run you off....as they want your money.....
And yes, you will see folks that have no business being there....and are only there because they came up with the cash to go.....
The best thing to do is to be in good shape so your not "that person" when it comes to PT/DT....study...don't sleep in class.....and you will do fine....
Good luck....

Yeah I'm in the process of getting into shape now...lol forgot how bad I had got.
NPI at UCM. Alot of the Officers/Deputies in my area went there, as did I. I thought it was pretty laid back in that there were not uniforms.inspections daily.
Depending on which insructors are availible for each section, some of them are great teachers.
Good luck and have fun with Dr. Wiggins

Where are you going to try to get hired on at? Most of the larger departments are requiring more than that. If you want to work at a smaller dept. that's fine just wanted to make sure you knew though.

Yeah I knew....don't really know right now TBH.
I'd like to work with a Sheriff's Dept. really but I'll take what I can get. :D
