It doesn't sound to me that you resigned in lieu of termination.
"We are preparing termination proccedings against you. You have a chance to resign first if you want to."
If that was said to you, you should change your answer.l

From your post it sounds like you resigned for "personal reasons". The key to a forced resignation has already been stated. "You can resign or be fired". In that case, the answer to the question is yes. Your case does not seem to match that criteria. I would definitely touch base with the BI and clarify the situation. Now this is only me, but if I where doing your BI, I would appreciate your touching base with me on the matter. Best of luck!!
