SCOTUS PD attends the UPTP (old mixed basic) program w/ most 0083's (ssud, uscp, pfpa, etc). Solid training not great.
I don't think they have an add on program after FLETC like SSUD or USCP just an in house OJT. The job like most security based positions is on the boring side but they have an excellent dig protection program that will allow you to travel outside of DC. I think after a certain air mile radius the USMS pick up coverage but that is not %100.
If you are looking to lock up a ton of people and want to stay federal 0083 go for US Park Police, they are the only "real" federal police agency. USPP has aviation, K9, Anti gang, 4 highway patrol districts, etc...
It all depends what you are looking to do with your career, if you goal is 1811 going local/state will give you better experience. As for the hiring process it should be on the announcement or just call recruiting.

I think he was referring to 0083's. Border Patrol are 1801's.

You are correct, I was referring to 0083's (federal police officers).
