Deputy Rein worked in the facility beside mine in Pompano Beach, FL. I just talked to him three days ago in the intake area of our jail. This is a trajic incident and goes to show that our jobs in detention/corrections are never routine. Please wear a mourning band for Deputy Rein and I hope our dept. catches inmate Mazza, whom is armed and dangerous, soon. Rest in Peace brother, you will be sorely missed.

Suspect Mazza has been arrested and is now in custody...

Here is the updated story...

This is the fourth Deputy killed from our department this year. Words can't describe how I feel about these losses we have sustained. Please stay safe out there whether in a facility or on the street.
