HI, everyone. I have been talking with my wife and I'm thinking about relocating to another area. I enjoy working here in Nebraska, but I'm wanting to move to a larger department. The Sheriff's Department I currently work for has 6 1/2 Deputies. I would like to work for an agency that has 20 up to 200 officers.
I have looked into a few other Nebraska Departments, but most Nebraska agencies I have looked into that fit into what I'm looking for takes on a average of 3 moths to a year. This is even before they get back with you or before they decide to eliminate you. In most cases if they decide to eliminate you then they neglect to send you a letter until you call them and asked them your status.
With this being said I like the Western part of South Dakota. From what I have seen so far it appears the cost of living is lower and there is a lot to do. Does anyone know of any departments that fit into what I'm looking for? I have also found that I like the Kansas City area, so I would pose this same question to other LEO's in the Kansas City area. Also if you do know of an agency are they lateral friendly? I say this because I understand places like KCK PD you have to repeat there entire academy. I will also pose this exact question in the Kansas form.
