I posted this on our LAPD forums but I wanted to open it up to other departments.

I took my oral psych for LAPD on Wednesday. Yesterday the shrink that interviewed me called me and said she wanted me to come back on Tuesday to meet with another shrink. She didn't say why but she said sometimes they do this and that to not be concerned or worried as nothing is wrong. Her words were "sometimes other shrinks want to take a looksy".

Anyone been through this before? I figure it is to go into depth about this one topic but not entirely sure.

Wow....I can't believe how long the LAPD hiring process takes considering how badly they need cops.

Can't they just cut corners and hire a few goofy chuckleheads like SDPD? Heck, they'll get terminated in phase training anyway (I hope).

I wouldn't use my time frame as an example. I've been in the process for 11, almost a year now and like 8 months have been spent in review. I've seen others who are at the same place I am in the process and started in May or June. I've only had to take the poly twice and it took them 3 months to review the first one and tell me I had to retake it. Most recently was the BG review which took what, 3-4 months I think?

But ya, one would think they'd speed up the process given they have ads on the radio everyday saying their need more officers. Maybe they just want to make me wait extra long to see if I have the patience for it :P

Stick in there SpecialBlend. I had classmates who took 1.5 years to 2 years to complete the process who were great. Then there were others who only took 3 months for the whole process and were...
