As a correctional supervisor(Lt.) I have on occasions been in charge of new correctional officers,and had to see to some of their training.
Several years back I had 3 new correctional officers under my direction. A memo was posted in the housing unit office to the Staff that a institional marriage would be held in the visiting room on the up coming saturday!
The new officer was curios to what a institutional marriage was! WELL I started to explain it to the young lad when we noticed that it was time for some of the inmates to come back into the unit from their recreation period!
The new officer wanting to impress his boss jumped up and went out to make sure they all went to their cells and to let a few out for their showers! After he had completed a round in the unit and was back in the office for a few minutes he realized that he could not hear any water running in the showers on the 2nd tier.The 2 inmates he had let out to shower had not turned them on yet!
The New officer had to go find out what was taking so long for them to shower! From the office I heared a cell door slam shut and the new officer came into the office white as a new bleached sheet! I asked: "Whats the proublem?" He had a very difficult time trying to tell me what he had just witnessed! when he finally found the words to discribe that the 2 inmates were engaged in anal sex, he felt he had to discribed all the details to make sure what he saw was real! As he looked to me for approval for his detailed account of the skinny and fatty sexaped! all I could tell him was "Now you know what a institutinal marriage is!" We laughed all night about the ordeal and how he reacted! I Will give the officer a well deserved ata boy for how he handled the problem!
Even though he is scared for life I can still get him stired up when I ask if he has been a wittness to anymore institutional marriages!
