I had me Captains interview today but I guess I did not do so well! The BI told me that I did not get selected and that they would place me in the six month waiting period but if another slot open up during the process before the October academy, that they would bring me back again. Is this really true or is she just making me feel good and "BS' me? What are my chances after that? Have you or anyone heard of them getting called back in and still getting hire? Thanks....

Based purely on what you wrote and knowing nothing of the department and how it works it's applicants I would say you will not be hired with that agency. Keep trying. Acknowledge your weaknesses and work on them.

and it sounds like you applied for a small agency , if they have to wait for a slot to open up ... try a large agency...
