One was in pursuit... one was going to a call to assist. Two Officers on two different missions... meeting in the middle... and dying together...

************************************************** *****

*Officer Rominger and Trooper Matt Evans of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol were killed in a collision of two police vehicles and the suspect's vehicle in downtown Oklahoma City. Officer Rominger had just begun chasing a vehicle for unknown reasons when the suspect drove up the off-ramp of I-40 and began to drive towards oncoming traffic. During the chase a tractor-trailer topped a hill in the road and collided with the suspect's vehicle, which then struck Trooper Evans' cruiser head-on. Officer Rominger's cruiser then struck the vehicle from the other side, causing all three vehicles to be engulfed in flames.

Trooper Evans was not involved in the chase, but was responding to assist another trooper on a possible drug-related traffic stop. Both officers deaths were ruled homicides.

Trooper Evans and the two suspects were pronounced dead at the scene. Officer Rominger was transported to a local hospital where he passed away a short time later.

One Guardian attempting to protect the highways from maniacs who had no concern of their own for the others sharing the highway with them, went to meet their maker today. Their day of judgement will be near. The courtroom will have additional prosecuting
witnesses this time though. The 2 Warriors they took with them to the Judgement Hall will stand with heads held high while theirs will be downcast.

On their heads will be the judgement for the wrongs done by their hands and thoughts in the moments before the accident. It will be their time to answer for the actions they took and the lives they sacrificed.

THE THIN BLUE LINE is short not one, but two this day.

Another Warrior was answering the call of a Brother Guardian. To assist him while facing potential harm. Both were lost in that fatal crash.

One Warrior will leave a wife to lay in their bed at night wondering about her dreams now gone in a single moment. Everything they had planned laid to waste and no way to repair either them or her heart and spirit.

While the other Warrior will leave a son to face growing up without his Dad. An 8 year old whose life will be hollow, where a Dad's love should be. Empty where that Dad's presence would belong.

Mourn Brothers and Sisters for St. Michael escorts 2 of ours home this day...

Rest in Peace my Brothers,
For the streets you partol now are made of purest gold.
Your transfers have been approved.
Rest in Peace
