Some of you may remember I posted an article about Brazos County, Texas Deputy Art Molina who was fighting cancer at the young age of 28. Yesterday Art lost his fight for life. He leaves behind two young children and a wife and some staggering medical bills. The only bright spot was the fact that the doctors were able to keep him alive until his mother could be rushed into town so she could say her goodbyes.

I don't know what else to say, I didn't even know Art that well but I find myself choking up as I post this. Too many people have said goodbye this year.

If any Texas officers are here that like to golf, BCSO is still holding the benefit golf tournament to help Art's family with the bills. You can contact the S.O. for details. Tournament will be held in September. 979-361-4100. Anyone there will be happy to furnish info.

Brazos County Deputy Art Molina,

The Rank and File that represents THE THIN BLUE LINE recognize that while our ranks are short a Brother, we have a Brother that is short the pain and suffering that cancer can be to anyone.

A Guardian shoulders the world around him. That world looks for the protection that a Warrior brings by his very presence.

There is a Guardian that has you on His shoulder now. And the angels of heaven are the Warriors who will bring safty to you with their presence.

Rest in Peace Brother,
Your pain has been replaced with comfort. Your patrol will be on streets of purest gold.
Your transfer has been approved.
Rest in Peace.

Ken...

I have to apologize to you... I've been very ill these past few days and have not devoted much of my time to the forum... or to my soft spot... which is for those who have fallen.

I'm extremely shaken up to hear about Art. As soon as I saw his name on the topic title... my heart sank... and it sank hard. I still have the letter he sent to me... where he spoke with such courage and conviction to fight the cancer. He really wanted to live.

He had a beautiful wife... two adorable children... and a future as bright as the sun.

I'm so sorry he is gone.
