Please, be careful. Auto accidents are the 2nd highest reasons for the deaths of LEO's.

Are there no replies offering commentary re: Mark Goca's death because he was a passenger in an automobile driven by a fellow police officer who was found to be driving DWI?
Won't pending toxicolgy reports also show that Mark Goca was also legally drunk? Haven't police investigating this accident discounted the claim of another vehicle being involved?
Rebecca, don't you think such information should have been included in your posting.
Just the facts, ma'am, all the facts. Isn't it true that you would have included all the facts if Goca had been killed in an automobile accident caused by a civilian DWI?

My deepest sympathy goes out not only to Det. Mark Goca's family but also to his fellow officers and to us the public who have lost one of our protectors.
Eternal rest grant unto Mark and let perpetual light shine upon him.
It has been nearly impossible for me to find the strength to move on since the tragic passing of my close friend, Detective Mark W. Goca.
Last night, Mark sent an angel to me by the name of Rebecca. I truly feel that she is the 1st step in my heeling process. I am so fortunate to have met her. She introduced me to ODMP. To know that so many people care to honor Mark's memory in this way is very comforting. Thank you so much.
Now, I would like to respond to any negative commentary that has been posted or might be in the future. Mark was a very special person that has touched my life in ways I cannot begin to express. He was true to his family, friends, community, and career. The positivity he demonstrated as a person and Police Ofiicer while he was with us cannot be changed by the circumstances that lead to his death. The extent of his funeral services were well deserved, to say the very least. If those of you who disagree knew Mark personally, you would have a much different outlook.
Mark, I love and miss you very much! You are in my heart, now and forever!!

Cute...
Talking with you last night was very special for me. I've found when using this screen name of Fallen Officers... that sometimes, someone will contact me to talk about the loss of an Officer they loved... and I always try to offer the strongest shoulder and the most understanding ear that I can for them. Usually, it is an Officer who simply needs to let go of some of the pain he is feeling... and then, after our talk... I don't hear from him again. This is fine... as being there when someone needs you is very important. With you, however... I feel like a new friendship has begun... and I look forward to it very much.
I know that while there is so much going on in the case of Mark's death right now... that his memory is being clouded with negativity. My hope for you is to know that this will pass. Time will eventually bring a close to this dreadful night... and there will come a day where all of the good things that Mark had to offer, both as a man and as a police officer... will be what will be remembered most about him.
You are right... those who really knew him know how deserving he was to have the proper ceremony he recieved in his death. You cannot forget the 5 years of service he gave because of one tragic night. It is because of his friends like you who will strive to keep his goodness alive within their hearts to share with others who were not fortunate enough to know him. Give it time... you shall see... they will remember his worth.
I'm here for you, Cute. And, my God bless you and give you strength now... and always.
Mark had a good friend in you. http://www.officer.com/ubb/smile.gif
