If anyone knows the status of the other Officer involved... please let me know. Officer Gamble died trying to save this man's life... I'd like to know that he succeeded.

God bless Joe for his unselfish act of ultimate sacrifice... and all of our Correctional Officers, too. You brave those whom we fear most of all... everyday. I thank you... God be with you.

Rest in peace, Officer Joe. http://www.officer.com/ubb/frown.gif

Our hearts and prayers are with the survivors.

The dangers of working in a jail or prison are often overlooked and disregarded. (even by those that work there).

Thanks for the reminder, Rebecca

Jlf...

You mentioned to me in an email that there is a memorial fund set up to help this family through. Is there a local bank or some other place that we could possibly send donations?

I'd also like the forum to know that you've told me that the other Officer was last reported in good condition. I'm sure that's good news for everyone to hear.

I'm really very sorry that you are personally touched by this very sad reality. I know you are friends with Sherri... and I'm sure you will be there for her in the aftermath. Somehow... I feel a little better knowing that... as you're a very nice person... and she's going to need your love.

Let me know if there is anything I can do. My prayers are with you all.

No matter what side of the bars you're on, when another badge goes down, it hurts.

Rest in peace and God be with his family, friends and coworkers.

It has touched everyone at work deeply. She has worked for A. Passmore and Sons for about 5 yrs. She is in sales. Everyone at work is wanting to do what they can. The hardest for her is when everyone goes home. We will all be there to support her and do what we can. I have worked with her for almost a year now and she has been an open ear for me many times and now it is time for me to be there for her. It is so hard to express the heartache you feel in a situation like this. I can still remember her getting the phone call at work that morning and I will never forget. I will be there for her as will everyone at work.

I will tell her you all are thinking of her and her family.

Thanks again,
Jennifer

Correction Officer Callaway was able to attend his friend/coworkers funeral. He was released from the hospital. She thanks you for your prayers and concern.
