I'll post the first thread in this new section.

Robbie Bishop was famous among interdiction officers as the best of the best. Robbie not only worked as a full time police officer, but dedicated himself to travelling the country and sharing his expertise with other narcotics interdiction officers. I had the privilege of attending one of Robbie's classes in early '98. He loved his job, was very good at it, and it showed. I left that class with new knowledge and a heavy dose of motivation. Robbie was definitely one of the good guys who gave his life doing what he loved. He will always be missed. http://www.odmp.org/cgi-bin/officer.pl?id=000821

When we lose another out of the THIN BLUE LINE, I advocate in each of my farewells, it is a heart wrenching anguish each of us feels in different ways.

Some from personal contact, like Glockarmorer, some from the knowledge and the personal experience that could have been shared with each and every Officer he would have taught. These pieces of information have now been taken away.

Others still, from the hard fact that our society has lost so much respect for the Guardians that protect their homes and families.

Those homes and families, litterly, have prowlers growling at their front door. How many go to sleep with alarms on their windows and doors, hidden alarm devices on their vehicles? Self defense items on their person?

It wasn't too long ago that we left our windows and doors open for the breeze at night. Never would a thought have passed through our parents minds that they were exposing their families to danger from the night.

Know anyone who practices that now...?

Captain Bishop was sitting in his car when the lowlife animal came to his window and put a bullet into his head. The exact circumstances will never be known.

What is known is that we lost a Brother, another Warrior, out of that wall of protection that all of us represent.

Rest in Peace Captain,
The streets you will patrol now are made of purest gold.
Your transfer has been approved.
Rest in Peace

I knew Robbie. I took a class from him. He was a terrific person and a great instructor. As an interdictor, I particularly felt his death.
