First and foremost, Hello. I have decided that I would like to become a local LEO, and would like some info and guidance to doing so. First some background info...I am currently 23 yrs of age, 6' tall, and around 275. During my "wild" high school days I did partake is some drug use, it was very minor(Marijuana mostly) and I have been clean since I was 19. At age 20 I got 3 tattoos, One on each forearm, and one on my upper right arm, just a bit above the bicep. Currently my father is serving a prison sentence for drug trafficking, something I had no idea he was doing until his arrest.
My current plans are getting in shape, of course. Filling out my financial aid forms for the local community college, as I plan to attend BLET there. Basically my questions are this....Will my tattoos be an issue or can I get a waiver and wear long sleeved uniforms? and Will my father's record have any negative effects on me becoming a LEO??
