Looks like the standard uniformed LEO position with USFS. The "LEO" title is similar to what you would consider a protection ranger with NPS. Great gig and competive to get hired on...

I met a few USDA Rangers this year at Police Week......Great bunch of folks....

They all seemed to like their jobs and said they got treated well.......

Not that it helps, but that's the best I can do for you......

I would apply and go from there if it's something you are interested in....

i was also looking into this job. so this is a park ranger position basically, correct? anyone got any other info?

It's a Federal Park Ranger position........expect to be in strange locations (if you ever look at the annoucments, they are never in "normal" places....)....

They seemed all happy with the job.....
