For those of you starting out and trying to decide where you want to live and work, or for those experienced officers looking for greener pastures (I'm not sure they are there, I've been looking for a while), take a look at this site:

www.findyourspot.com

I know, it sounds a little dirty to those of you with minds in the gutter ;) , but actually it is an on-line quiz that helps you pick areas/cities that meet your criteria.

Perfect science, no way - but interesting anyway. I am in no way affiliated with this site, and I recommend when you get to the end, you put in made-up info/email to prevent the barrage of crap that would surely follow - you still get the results.

I apparently want to live in Norfolk, VA - but then I saw how much they pay their cops around there  Looks like I'm not headed there until I retire.

I'm seriously thinking of Tennessee or Texas.

I here Nashville is really nice. They also say that Texas is very police friendly. I'm considering Raleigh or Durham. Anyone know alot about Denver?

Denver is a nice place to live. A really good time to purchase a home. New/used.

As far as PDs... Denver and Aurora PD are hiring a lot right now.

Oregon (Corvallis, Bend, Eugene, Salem)
Arizona (Phoenix, Mesa, Scottsdale, Tempe)

I was born and raised in Oregon and the only other place I can see myself is in Arizona.
