I have posted before ... and am curious to know what anyone knows about Dallas PD and its opinions of homosexual officers. As I have posted, I am not trying to change the world, nor am I trying to march in parades in uniform... I just want to live my life... but that means, not lying about my orientation or going on dates with co-workers friends/sisters/whatever in order to keep up a facade....
Thoughts?
I would think that a large metropolitan community like Dallas would not have a problem with orientation, but it is more conservative than say, Austin....
Thanks!

Having worked in a large metropolitan department for many years I can assure you you are probably more worried about it than anyone else. Will you take a lot of crap, yeah. So does everybody else for whatever andybody else can think of to give them crap about. For whatever reason it's the nature of this job. I'm a bible thumping, sunday school teaching, non-drinking, non-smoking type and I caught crap about that all the time. We had a guy that was a stereotypical grouchy old fart that hated everybody and couldn't keep a woman more than two dates to save his life. He caught crap all the time. Another guy that was divorced 6 times paying child support to a dozen kids living in a flea bag daily weekly monthly. We had a guy who was VERY metrosexual. They all caught crap all the time. I hope you get the idea. Just make sure you show up whenever anybody is getting their ***** kicked and life will go on just fine.

Ha Ha, well put D. Rat.
Maybe we ought to change the title from Police Offfficer to Crap Catcher.
