Was just looking at the ICE website and the info about 1811 hiring...

Can someone post an outline of their 1811 selection process?

Sounds like it's quite long if you guys have been waiting since a January exam...

Thx

I can't speak for the entry level applicants, however several fellow 1811's I know applied for the lateral openings ICE posted a while back. About a week or so ago, the scores came out. I guess we will see how fast they pick up current 1811's, as they only need to complete the ICESAT add-on....

yes i believe any fed position takes a long time. the only position i can think of that hires "faster" is BP... but for ICE the proces is :

1. send resume, wait forever to be contacted for the lucky PIN to register for the test
2. take written test
3. interview(s) depending on location
4. wait for TO
5. background package
6. med,drug test
7. t&s

anything else i forgot?

Thanks! I take it you call the SAC and he/she directs you to send in a resume before you get your pin? The website makes it seem like you get your pin just by calling...

here is some advice. start faxing your resume to every sac possible, whether its in your area or not. they will send you a pin in the mail or call you to interview you over the phone. if you wait for the sac in your area you may be out of luck. its better to put more than one line in the water.

yep most applicants just faxed/sent their resumes to many SAC offices. i believe i just sent an email and resume to LA SAC office since it's the closest. i was told to fax my transcripts too! so have those ready! and never heard back. i think like 3 months later i received a phone call from a recruiter who asked if i was interested and had informal interview, which i totally bombed!!!! but luckily it was just very informal! and she said i'd be getting a pin! whew! but expect to wait a while , esp if they are not issuing pins. i believe the next round is going to start in sept?

I was hired as a CBPO last month but was wondering if this job required a degree?
