pre-background and background check

during my pre-background check i admitted to smoking pot twice when it was actually 5 times in my life with the latest being seven mouths ago. I want to be honest and write down the other 3 times on my official background. If i do this will I be DQ?


P.S i going to write down the other 3 times anyway, just want a little insight

Just tell the truth from the start. You should inform your BI immediately. If you dont tell them it will definately be a DQ if they find out from someone other than you.

Meaning, don't waste a Background Investigators time if you did any type of illegal drug with-in the past 1 year. 7 months ago, you will be DQ'ed at the front door.

DITTO.... most agencies want 2-3 years from last drug use, and even then it is going to be tough to get in.

you should of told the truth from the get go.... changing answers ALWAYS jacks up your background process. you may not get DQed for changing answers BUT your BI now will wonder if your tell ing thr truth on other stuff...

You're going to need to put some time between your last marijuana use, and your application. Your last use has been too recent for most agencies. Probably at least a year, maybe more, will have to pass before you'll have a reasonable shot at law enforcement employment.
