Hey everyone, I Need more info about washingtons DOC

-how old do you have to be to apply
-hows the equipment,morale and the jails

im not a current officer, but i plan to be one in washington , i believ the site said u have to be 21...as for the equipment and jails someone else will have to answer that

21 to apply and no age limit (there are some crazy old dudes starting here).

Equipment, morale, and facilities vary 180% depending on where you go. For the DOC here, you need to look at geographical preferences and then go from there. We have joints everywhere from ocean front views, islands, mountains, deserts, cities and country. Use the Washington DOC web site and Google to figure out where specificly your looking at going, and then I can give you some more specific info.

Ya know, I don't think it is 21 now that I think about it. I believe it is 18. I went back and looked at the job announcement and it doesn't even say any age requirement.

Hey ab04, how do you like the IDOC? I LOVE Boise, but they pay down there is a real turn off. Do you all make out OK with the wages?
