SSCPD what kind of shifts do you guys work? Does your agency pay full family or Officer only? Also what kind of written test you have; POST, Civil Service made up by the City, ETC?

We work 8hr. shifts. Everything is issued to you. Anything over 8hrs. a day is OT. 100% vested in pension after 5 yrs. Ins. free for officer. Family is $160 a month. If you want to by a computer city gives you an interest free loan. To pay it back they deduct $20 a paycheck. If you do not take the city's ins. they give you $234 a month. Holiday pay, which includes your birthday, is double time and a half. Everything is computerized. MDT's in all the cars. Etickets/tracs, Reports including accidents on the computer. No report writing. Everything is dictated on ANY phone from anywhere. Cameras all over the town and schools that you can watch from your car's MDT. Starting pay in Oct. is $18.13/hr. Anything else you want to know just ask.

Crap, I forgot about the test. It is a multiple choice test kind of like POST. Then of course the infamous TABE test. Physical part is a 7 station agility/strength type events.
