View Full Version : St. louis Academy. Are you paid?
I have read through the website for the county and am a bit confused regarding the academy costs/tuition. I see that the open enrollment process pays for the tuition and there is minimal cost to the recruit. I, at one point, swear I had seen a section that says the recruit is paid while in the academy as well. Am I just dreaming here or is this the case ?
thanks for the info

If St. Louis County hires you or another agency does than you will get paid while you go to the academy. If you accept tuition grant than St. Louis County pays your way to go to the academy but you will not get paid.
Thanks for the info.
But How do you get hired by St. louis County? Do they look at your application for the academy and decide based on what's there. Or would you apply beforehand. How does the process work to be paid while in the academy.
I ask because I would be leaving my career to go to the academy and would not have any other income except my wife's.
Thank you for the information,
Shane

Go to St. Louis County's website and download an application. You will only get paid if you get hired by St. Louis County. We also have a recruiting officer by the name of officer moore at headquarters he can answer any question that you have!

Thanks again for the info.
I've already downloaded the application and am waiting on my college transcripts to come in before I can submit it.
Thank you
