Can anyone please help me decode all of the different pay scales that are posted next to Special Agent positions. I thought all 1811 positions were on the GS payscale. For example if you look at USAJOBS, what does GG-1811 or YK-1811 or GL-1811, etc. mean? I just need some info. regarding reading and understanding all of the different pay scales when searching for a SA job online.
Thanks

ThanksMost 1811 jobs will have the salary reported as GS or GL. Qualifying LE jobs, which most 1811 positions are, will get paid on the LEO pay table for grades up to and including 10. Technically those are "GL" paygrades. After grade 10 qualifying LEOs are paid on the GS scale. However, most agencies simply refer to paygrades 10 and below as "GS" even though they are technically GL paygrades.
Can't help you on the GG or YK stuff. I've only been paid on the GL and GS scales, even though each of the agencies I worked for referred to it as a GS grade even when I was still in the GL grades.
