I want all of you college (4yr) graduates to apply at my PD. The truth is every PD outside the NE is also looking for you! You need to stop complaining and start looking! There are jobs where you can afford to live on the pay and visit NY whenever you get vacation.
I have a retirement and a matching 401k. I live in a great neighborhood in a small (1589 sq ft ) house that I paid $70k for 11 years ago and is worth 110k today. NO..I will not make money on real eastate but my 65k a year has paid this off already. My kids go to the community college and it costs $47/credit hour! There local univeristy costs less than $200.credit hour......... I could go on but look all of this up and apply somewhere!!!!!!

I was in DC last week and all of the uniformes Cops said they were hiring except the Park PD. I doubt you can live in that area on the pay but you are only a couple hours from home.

Not trying to be rude but not everyone wants to move to Texas. I had a friend move from Rhode Island to Texas and he hated it. He didn't end up in the LE field, nor was he interested in it, but he absolutely hated Texas and moved back to Rhode Island a year later. So Texas and moving are not for everyone.

Personally, I'm moving across the U.S. anyway, from New York to Las Vegas, so don't get me wrong, there's some things that you'll never know if you don't try (an example being moving to a different area).

I just cannot help but get a little bit annoyed and not even read your posts anymore since every single post you have relates to applying at Arlington PD. Is your department really short handed that much? Are you getting some sort of kickback or something? Again, I'm not trying to be rude, but you sound like a car salesman trying to sell the same car over and over again, and sometimes in threads that have nothing to do with Texas.

Good luck as I won't comment further.
