Ok. I've already found one really good new hire from this site. He's doing GREAT! Now we need two more. Any Florida certified officers looking for a job in central Florida? Starting pay is $32k without the holiday pay, and we are supposed to be bumped up to $38k starting. Take home vehicles are going to be assigned soon. Interviews are starting this Friday. All equipment issued, tuition reimbursement, free drycleaning, affordable housing within our city, GREAT admin and atmosphere! This was the ONLY department I even considered applying to! The application can be printed out from the website. PM me, and if I feel you are what the department is looking for (motivated, a self initiator, [hopefully] educated, able to get along well with a diverse group...etc) I will pass the word along. You can come for a ride-along to see if you like our agency. We currently have 30 sworn officers, but will be growing rapidly in next 2-5 years, which will allow for promotion opportunities.

Takehomes are coming? what do yall drive and what sort of policy are they implenting for them? off duty usage?

Our patrol vehicles are Chevy Tahoes. Equipped with LED low profile light bars, state of the art recording systems, AR-15's, and CAD laptops. The actual take-home policy has not been released yet, but will be coming soon. To start, an officer wishing to take their vehicle home, must live within 10 miles of the department. They have not YET decided how that 10 miles will be judged - 10 miles from department, or 10 miles from city limits??? That is JUST to start, it will be made a farther distance as new vehicles are added. We just had 4 new 2007 Tahoes come in, and our Dodge Charger Hemi is coming soon as well. Most of the agencies in the area do not utilize sport utility vehicles, nor do they offer take-home vehicles. Just another GREAT reason to work for us!
